Most businesses don't need an AI strategy deck. They need one AI agent that does one job well, and the confidence that comes from seeing it work.
Pick a job, not a technology
The best first agents handle work that is frequent, repetitive and well understood. Answering enquiries, booking appointments, qualifying leads and chasing follow-ups are common starting points, because the rules are clear and the volume is high.
- High volume: it happens many times a day or week.
- Clear rules: a good employee could explain how to do it in a page.
- Low risk: a mistake is easy to spot and fix.
- Measurable: you can count what it resolves, books or saves.
Connect it to real systems
An agent that can only talk is a novelty. An agent connected to your calendar, CRM and inbox can finish the job: book the viewing, create the lead and send the confirmation.
The value isn't in the conversation. It's in the work that happens after it.
Design the handover
Decide early what the agent should never handle on its own, and how it passes those conversations to a person. A clean handover, with a summary attached, is what makes customers trust the system.
Measure, then expand
Track what the agent resolves, how often it hands over and what customers say. Once the first agent proves its worth, the second one is a much easier decision.
